2001: The Pikes Peak Firearms Coalition helped send Colorado Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC) champion Brandon Shelstad to the National YHEC Championships where he took several medals including some Gold Medal! Congratulations!

2001: The Pikes Peak Firearms Coalition joined the Colorado Springs Freinds of NRA Committee to send a local teen to the NRA Whittington Center Adventure Camp near Raton, New Mexico. The FNRA provided funding for the camp fees and the PPFC provided $250 to the camper for expenses.

2001: The Pikes Peak Firearms Coalition, Paradise Sales, and local NRA Instructors offered four firearm safety classes for area teens.

November - December 2000: Members of the Pikes Peak Firearms Coalition helped clean up the US Forest Service Rampart Range Road shooting area. PPFC and Paradise Sales paid for a dumpster for the trash. |

October 1999: Members of the Pikes Peak Firearms Coalition rallied more than 700 pro-gun people to attend a "Guns, Violence, and Public Health" forum featuring Atlanta anti-gun physician Arthur Kellermann. In 7 hours on Chuck Baker's "On the Carpet" talk radio show on Hot Talk 1460 prior to the forum, PPFC officers interviewed such pro-gun experts as Gary Kleck, John Lott, and Dr. Tim Wheeler. |

1999: Members of the Pikes Peak Firearms Coalition are serving on an El Paso Task Force called to reduce handgun violence among our youth. The Task Force is headed by former El Paso County Department of Health Director Dr. John Muth and is sponsored by several local organizations, including the PPFC. The Task Force is developing a firearm safety program to be presented to junior and senior high school students. |

April 1999: The PPFC Program Director co-hosted several radio talk shows with noted Colorado Springs Hot Talk 1460 AM talk show host, Chuck Baker, in the wake of the terrorist attack on Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, on April 20, 1999. Their guests included Dr. Linda Gorman, Research Fellow at the Independence Institute; Texas State Representative Suzanna Gratia Hupp; National Rifle Association representatives; several Colorado State Senators and Representatives; and local firearm instructors and dealers. |

1998: The Pikes Peak Firearms Coalition teamed with the Colorado Springs Police Department to teach a 4-hour Home Firearm Safety Course aimed at homes with children. |
